Rastriya Mukti Party demands justice for Rinku Kumari Sada

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Mukti Party led by Rajendra Mahato has demanded strictest action against the culprits in the gang rape and suspicious death of 17-year-old Rinku Kumari Sada.

Mahato issued a statement on Saturday, expressing suspicion that an attempt was made to protect the perpetrators of the incident and demanded strict action.

Rinku, who had gone out of her house to defecate on the night of February 9, was gang-raped by three local youths. The victim was found hanging in her own house on the evening of February 12.

“We are closely monitoring the incident. Even after so many days, the government has not shown any seriousness towards such a heinous crime. Our party strongly opposes any attempt to protect the perpetrators, destroy evidence or give political protection to the incident,” reads the statement from Rastriya Mukti Party.

The party has demanded that the relevant bodies conduct a fair, transparent and effective investigation into the incident and provide speedy justice to the victim’s family.

Mahato has said that strict policies should be adopted to prevent such crimes.

The party has expressed solidarity with all citizens, human rights activists and justice-loving organizations struggling for justice and urged them to create strong pressure against injustice, including the Rinku Sada murder case.
