KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has postponed its ongoing protests against the arrest of Chairman Rabi Lamichhane until after the Chhath festival.

Lamichhane is currently in custody, but the party plans to continue its agitation in Kaski.

According to DP Aryal, the coordinator of the movement and RSP Vice Chairman, protests outside Kaski have been suspended to focus on the celebrations of Tihar and Chhath.

Aryal stated, “Our friends have indicated that a sit-in will take place in Kaski even on the day of Bhaitika. However, the protests in other districts, including Kathmandu, will be paused until Chhath.”

He added that supporters would issue warnings through Deusi Bhaili during the festivities, emphasizing that the movement cannot be entirely halted.

Aryal also confirmed that RSP supporters will continue their campaign against Lamichhane’s arrest through Deusi Bhaili performances.

Lamichhane was arrested for misappropriation of cooperative funds.

Since then, the RSP has been protesting in Kaski, Kathmandu, and various other districts across the country.
