Youths stage anti-corruption protest in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: A group of youths, led by Dr. Kamal Bhusal, staged a protest against corruption in Kathmandu on Saturday.

The protestors demanded that the government recover Rs 22 billion in dues owed to the Nepal Electricity Authority and investigate major corruption cases, including the Giribandu land scam and the Bhutanese refugee scandal.

Dr. Bhusal warned the government of potential civil unrest akin to that in Bangladesh if these issues are not addressed.

He also announced plans to intensify the protests and demonstrations starting Sunday.
