RPP Chair Lingden urges immediate halt to Taplejung Cable Car project

KATHMANDU: Rajendra Lingden, Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has called for an immediate suspension of the cable car project in the Pathibhara area.

Tensions in the region have been rising steadily, particularly after the government used force against those opposing the project.

A violent clash erupted on Saturday night between the police and locals in the district headquarters.

Lingden shared photos and videos of the incident on social media, urging the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Chandra Dhakal to halt the project to prevent further social division.

“Prime Minister, Home Minister, Chandra Dhakal, what have you done? Taplejung has turned into a battlefield. Have you not torn apart society, causing brothers to fight, kill, and be killed over this cable car? Immediately halt this decision and stop the conflict from spreading,” Lingden said.
