Ramkala Khadka elected President of Working Women Journalists (WWJ)

KATHMANDU: Ramkala Khadka has been elected President of the Working Women Journalists (WWJ) during the organization’s 12th annual general meeting and seventh convention, which concluded on Saturday.

Khadka, who previously served as Vice-President, will now lead a 12-member executive committee.

Chanda Bista was elected Vice-President, Ramita Kumari Lama as General Secretary, Rukmini Pokharel as Secretary, and Deepa Ale as Treasurer.

Additionally, Sangita Lama was selected as a special member, while Ambika Rajthala, Sony Sharma, Shobha Manandhar, Sita BK, Rupa Khadka, and Laxmi Basnet were elected as committee members.

The event took place in the presence of Bagmati Province Minister for Social Development, Hari Prabha Khadgi.

The WWJ, established in 2006, aims to create a common platform for advocating issues related to women journalists.
