Laborer’s body swept away by flood in Bhojpur found

BHOJPUR: The body of a laborer who went missing after being swept away by a flood has been recovered.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Yuvraj Timsina stated that the body of 30-year-old Ramesh Tharu from Bardiya-3 was found today at Satighat along the Arun River.

Tharu was working on the Ikhuwa hydropower project in the Ikhuwa River, which is under construction in Gothe Bazar, in northern Bhojpur.

The flood in the Ikhuwa River on Tuesday swept away two workers from the project site.

While Ramesh Tharu’s body has been found, 26-year-old Shyam Kumar Tharu remains missing.

Deputy Superintendent Timsina said that the search for Shyam Kumar is ongoing.

Meanwhile, 26-year-old Ram kishan Tharu, who was swept away by flood, was rescued by locals.

The flood that occurred Tuesday night also caused damage.

Two houses were destroyed by the floodwaters.
