Maharajganj-2 Ward Chair arrested for accepting 15,000 rupees in bribe

KAPILVASTU: Ujjir Ali, the ward chairperson of Ward No. 2 of Maharajganj Municipality in Kapilvastu, has been apprehended on bribery charges.

According to Narahari Ghimire, the spokesperson for the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Ward Chair Ali was taken into custody on Sunday after being found in possession of a bribe amounting to 15,000 rupees.

Allegedly, Ali demanded the bribe from individuals seeking services in exchange for providing recommendations.

Upon receiving this information, a team from the CIAA, based in Butwal, arrested Ali from his office.

Further investigation into the matter is being conducted by the CIAA.
