MANTHALI: Flights between Manthali and Lukla have resumed following a week-long closure due to adverse weather conditions. Lukla Airport, situated in Solukhumbu district, had been temporarily shut down due to inclement weather.

This morning, with improved weather conditions in Lukla, flights between Manthali and Lukla have recommenced. During the closure of Lukla airport, aircraft from Sita, Tara, and Summit airlines were grounded in Manthali.

To accommodate foreign tourists traveling to Lukla, some opted for helicopter rides to Surke in Solu, while others chose to travel by road up to Phaplu.

Pravin Subedi, in-charge of Tara Air in Ramechhap, confirmed the resumption of flights to Lukla following reports of improved weather conditions.

As weather conditions continue to improve, foreign tourists are now arriving in Manthali from Kathmandu via road to reach Lukla.

Prajwal Guragain, senior officer at the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) in Ramechhap, stated that flights between Manthali and Lukla will be operated throughout the day on a rotational basis, contingent upon weather conditions.
