Committee investigating Balkumari incident to record statement of Minister Jwala today



KATHMANDU: The high-level committee assigned to investigate the Balkumari incident that transpired on December 29, 2023, has called upon Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala, to provide a statement.

The incident involved a clash between EPS Korean language students and security personnel, resulting in the unfortunate death of two youths.

Following the tragic event, the government established a high-level committee, headed by former High Court Judge Shekhar Paudel, to conduct a thorough investigation.

The committee comprises former AIG Arun BC and Joint Home Secretary Narayan Prasad Bhattarai.

Minister Jwala is expected to face inquiries regarding his presence at the location on the day of the protest.
