Govt for reducing human-wildlife conflict: Minister Shahi



KAILALI: Minister for Forest and Environment, Ain Bahadur Shahi, has shared that the Ministry had forwarded activities like conservation of forests, environment and wildlife and reduction of climate change impacts.

At a press conference organized by Nepal Press Union, Kailali, at Dhangadhi today, Minister Shahi mentioned that the Ministry had advanced forests and bio-diversity conservation related plan to be enforced in a phase-wise manner.

He added that issues– wildlife conservation, reduction human-wildlife conflict — are on top priority of the ministry.

“The Ministry had organized a programme at Shuklaphanta National Park in Kanchanpur to collect necessary information about these issues. Even a commission was formed to address problems, to reduce losses and to rehabilitate displaced people”, Minister Shahi shared.

Initiatives to connect forests and tourism, national parks and tourism with each other are continued, the Forests Minister said, adding that national and conservation areas are most attractive centre for tourism.

Minister Shahi stated that the government has a plan to develop Badimalika of Bajura as the conservation area.
