Municipality issues 35-day ultimatum to entrepreneurs to manage lead waste



KHOTANG: Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi municipality in the district has issued an ultimatum to entrepreneurs to manage or dispose lead waste thrown haphazardly in the municipality.

They have been given 35 days for it. The municipality issued the 35-day ultimatum to be effective from December 29 to manage lead waste as it has made adverse impact on environment.

Mayor Tirtha Raj Bhattarai shared that the entrepreneurs were asked to manage lead waste as the municipality’s policy and programme has mentioned that individuals, shopkeepers, companies and wholesalers themselves should manage such waste if they create lead waste.

The municipality time and again requested the entrepreneurs to manage lead waste. Now they would be taken action if the latest edict is ignored.
