Nepal secures first win in T20I Triangular Series

KATHMANDU: Nepal has achieved its first victory in the ongoing T20I triangular series in Canada, defeating Oman by 37 runs in their second match last night.

Set a target of 177 runs, Oman was bowled out for 139 with five balls remaining.

Soheb Khan was the top scorer for Oman, making 45 runs, while Rafiullah contributed 33.

Fayaz Butt finished unbeaten on 17, and Prateek Athava and Khalid Kail chipped in with 15 and 11 runs, respectively.

Karan KC was the standout bowler for Nepal, claiming three wickets for 36 runs. Kushal Bhurtel and Gulsan Jha each took two wickets, while Rijn Dhakal, Dipendra Singh Airi, and Sandeep Lamichhane each picked up one wicket.

Batting first after Oman won the toss, Nepal scored 176 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs.

Gulsan Jha top-scored with an unbeaten 40 runs off just 17 balls, including three fours and three sixes.

Dipendra Singh Airee added 18 runs, hitting one four and two sixes in just five balls. Kushal Malla contributed 30 runs, while openers Anil Shah and Ashif Shekh  each scored 27.

Kushal Bhurtel added 20 runs, but captain Rohit Poudel and Dev Khanal managed only 2 runs each.

In their first match of the series, Nepal fell short against Canada, losing by 14 runs.
