Education Ministry collecting details of NGO and INGO activities in education

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has initiated the collection of detailed information on the activities carried out by national and international organizations, as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

The Ministry has issued a public call for these details to be provided within 15 days.

This effort, directed by Education Minister Sumana Shrestha, aims to address the government’s lack of a systematic information system regarding the number of NGOs working in the education sector and the activities they are currently undertaking, according to Minister Shrestha’s private secretariat.

The secretariat stated that identifying problems related to resource mobilization for the education system and exploring solutions will follow the collection of this information.
