Minister Lamichhane urges fearless execution of duties



ILAM: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Rabi Lamichhane has issued clear instructions to security agencies in Ilam district, emphasizing the need to carry out their responsibilities without fear or favor.

During an interaction with the Chief District Officer of Ilam district and chiefs of the security agencies, Minister Lamichhane directed them to work in a manner that reflects positive change in the community.

Emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and order, the Minister urged the officials not to compromise when it comes to combating crime. He stated, “None of you should work under the influence of fear or favor. Adhere to the laws and act within their bounds. You do not need explicit instructions from the Home Ministry to uphold the law.”

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that public services must be delivered in a manner that demonstrates the state’s support for victims. He affirmed, “Ensure that the law is enforced. No one is above the law.”

Highlighting their commitment to serving the people’s best interests, he underscored the importance of focusing on good governance, efficient service delivery, and combating issues such as corruption, drug abuse, and smuggling.

Minister Lamichhane’s visit to Ilam also included participation in a program to officially announce the candidacy of Milan Limbu from his party, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), for the upcoming by-election in Ilam constituency no. 2.

Prior to this, Minister Lamichhane had visited Mangsebung-5 in the district to meet with Kirat religious leader Atmananda Lingden.
