Nepal ‘A’ chooses to bowl first against Ireland Wolves

KATHMANDU: Following a tough loss to Ireland ‘A’ in the inaugural T20 encounter on Friday, Nepal ‘A’ is set for redemption in their second match today.

At the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal ‘A’ won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Despite Lokesh Bam’s remarkable century in the previous game, Nepal faced defeat on home soil. However, the team is determined to reverse their fortunes and secure a victory in the upcoming match.

In the first encounter, Nepal fell short of Ireland ‘A’s target, being all-out for 201 runs in 19.3 overs.

As the series progresses, Nepal and Ireland ‘A’ are scheduled to clash in three T20 and one-day matches each. With pressure mounting after the opening match defeat, Nepal is eager to bounce back and secure victories in the remaining fixtures.

Following the T20 series, Nepal and Ireland ‘A’ will transition to a one-day series starting from April 3. The series will culminate with the final match slated for March 7 at Kirtipur Ground.

Having previously faced Ireland ‘A’ in two T20 series, Nepal acknowledges the formidable challenge posed by the visiting team. Nevertheless, Nepal remains confident in their abilities and aims to deliver stellar performances to emerge victorious once again.
