PM Oli urges people to follow Buddha’s teachings

LUMBINI: Prime Minister KP Oli has urged all to follow the Buddha’s philosophy and education.

Addressing the 3rd special convocation and 20th anniversary of the Lumbini Buddhist University here today, Prime Minister Oli, also chancellor of the university, said that it is another form of Buddha’s message that everyone should be happy, as the national aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ is being promoted in the country.

Prime Minister Oli congratulated the parents and students for achieving success through parental investment, love and hard work, and urged them to present themselves in the society as preachers and followers of Buddhist philosophy.

“Human virtues are not falsehoods and frauds. Human virtues are qualities of peace, compassion and love”, Prime Minister Oli said, “Hate leads to hatred, unrest leads to unrest and enmity leads to enmity while love leads to love, peace leads to peace and good leads to good. Therefore all should abide by virtues.”

PM Oli mentioned that Lumbini is the birthplace of Buddha and also the place of Buddhist philosophy noting the government is taking initiatives to develop and promote it as a holy place.
