APF chief Raju Aryal expresses confidence in law defining force’s clear role

KATHMANDU: Armed Police Force (APF) Inspector General Raju Aryal has expressed confidence that a law clearly defining the role and authority of the force will be enacted.

Speaking at the 22nd anniversary program of the APF Nepal No. 9 Pashupatinath Battalion Headquarters in New Baneshwor on Tuesday, Aryal said that although a draft law outlining the organization’s clear mandate had previously been submitted to the government, it had yet to be passed. He expressed hope that the newly formed Parliament would move forward with legislation ensuring clear roles and authority for the force.

Aryal said the APF played an effective role in maintaining stability in the country, from the incidents of September 8 and 9, 2025, to the successful completion of the elections.

Stating that elections were conducted without a single drop of bloodshed due to the efforts of all security agencies, he said the security forces remain prepared, alert, and capable of defending the country in the days ahead.

He also noted that the organization aims to promote leadership based on both seniority and performance excellence.

During the program, APF personnel from the Pashupatinath Battalion Headquarters were honored and awarded.
