PM Dahal assures contractors amidst economic improvements
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ claimed that country’s economy was not crisis-ridden like last year. Addressing the 25th annual general assembly of the Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal (FCAN) in Hetauda today, Prime Minister Dahal asserted that there had been a positive improvement in the economic indicators. He, however, said the national economy was not completely free from stressors and called for an intensive discussion for that.
SC orders search for alternative cremation site to substitute cremation at Pashupati’s Sleshmantak area
The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an order to completely halt cremations in the Sleshmantak forest area of Pashupati within a year. In the final hearing of a writ petition filed by lawyer Deepak Bikram Mishra six years ago, a division bench comprising Justices Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Nahakul Subedi, on January 21, issued an order to explore alternative sites for cremation in the forest area designated for such purposes.
Nagarik Unmukti directs to withdraw support given to Sudurpaschim govt
The Nagarik Unmukti Party has directed the parliamentary party of the Sudurpaschim province to withdraw its support from the government led by the Nepali Congress. Chairperson of Nagarik Unmukti, Ranjita Shrestha, instructed Ghanashyam Chaudhary, the leader of the Sudurpaschim parliamentary party, to retract their support and exit the government. Chairperson Shrestha has urged the provincial party leadership to adhere to the decisions made during the party’s meeting on March 27.

Govt forms committee to investigate weapons license granted to Durga Prasai
In response to recent developments, the government has initiated an investigation into the granting of a weapons license to Durga Prasai. During a Cabinet meeting held on Thursday, a decision was made to establish a four-member committee, led by Home Ministry’s Joint Secretary Rajendra Dev Pandey, to oversee the inquiry. The decision comes after two of Prasai’s bodyguards were apprehended with weapons on March 18 within the premises of the Supreme Court.

Speaking at the 25th general assembly of the Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal (FCAN) held here today, PM Dahal highlighted that numerous projects faced delays because construction entrepreneurs did not meet their obligations as stipulated in the agreements.
