KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has said disorder, indiscipline and activities contrary to the party’s policies will not be tolerated within the party.
Addressing office-bearers of the Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Valley Special and Liaison Coordination provinces virtually on Tuesday about the decisions and messages of the party’s third full Central Committee meeting, Oli warned that strict action would be taken against anyone acting against the party’s policies and discipline.
He directed party leaders and cadres not to make statements that could benefit opposition parties or engage in activities that create disorder within the party. The UML’s third full Central Committee meeting was held in Lalitpur from Ashoj 5 to 8.
Oli said the party should now focus primarily on protecting democracy and preparing for the upcoming local-level elections. He urged party leaders and cadres to move forward with a single-minded focus to achieve the set objectives.
He also clarified that the party would not immediately pursue unification with any other political party, although electoral alliances or issue-based cooperation could be considered as necessary.
Oli said leaders assigned responsibilities in districts and their respective areas could not carry out their work by staying only in Kathmandu or other convenient locations. He instructed them to reach their areas of responsibility and formulate plans there.
Vice-chairpersons Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, Bishnu Prasad Paudel and Raghuji Pant, along with General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel and other leaders, attended the virtual meeting.
