Nepal falls short against Ireland Wolves despite Lokesh’s century

KATHMANDU: Despite Lokesh’s century, Nepal A faced defeat against Ireland Wolves by 21 runs in the first T20 cricket match.

Chasing Ireland A’s target of 223 runs at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal was bowled out for 201 runs in 19.3 overs.

Although Lokesh Bam scored a century against Ireland A, it wasn’t enough to turn the match in favor of the team.

Lokesh, who scored 106 runs off 56 balls with 9 fours and 8 sixes, couldn’t steer Nepal to victory.

With Lokesh leading the charge, Arif Sheikh also contributed with 49 runs. However, when Arif got out, other batsmen couldn’t sustain in the crease to support Lokesh.

In the opening T20 match between Ireland Wolves and Nepal ‘A’, Ireland Wolves set a challenging target of 223 runs.

Nepal ‘A’, having won the toss, elected to bowl first against Ireland Wolves at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground.

Kamal Singh Airee was the most successful bowler for Nepal, claiming three wickets, while Sagar Dhakal and Aarif Sheikh each took one wicket.

Batting first, Ireland Wolves posted a formidable total of 222 runs, losing five wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Peter Joseph Moor top-scored with 49 runs, supported by Cade Carmichael and Neil Alan Rock, who contributed 38 runs each.

Stephen Thomas Doheny also made a valuable contribution with 34 runs.
