Itahari Gold Cup: Church Boy’s enter final



DHARAN: The Church Boy’s United has entered the final of the 14th Itahari Gold Cup.

In the semi-final match held here last night under lights at the Itahari Stadium, the Church Boy’s United defeated organizing Rastriya Jagriti Club by 1-0.

Now, departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club and the Church Boy’s Club would complete for the title on Saturday.

The Church Club United is also the winner of Jhapa Gold Cup and the runner-up of the last year’s Itahari Gold Cup.

Sameer Tamang of the Church Boy’s United made a decisive goal for the team at the 89th minute of the match and was named Man of the Match, to win a cash prize of 10,000 rupees.

Earlier on Wednesday night, the Tribhuvan Army Club entered the final of the tournament by defeating the defending champion Sagarmatha Club in a penalty shootout by 2-1.

The final match of the tournament will be played under lights on coming Saturday.

The winner of the tournament will be given 1 million rupees while the runner-up will get Rs 500,000 in cash.
