NEPSE witnesses a decline of 28 points today



KATHMANDU: The Nepal stock market experienced a decline of 28.68 points on Thursday, bringing the NEPSE index to 1972.09 points.

The week concluded with a 1.43 percent drop, accompanied by a significant turnover of 2.59 billion, surpassing the previous day’s trading activity.

Despite the overall dip, investors of only 17 companies managed to secure gains, contrasting with shareholders of 220 companies who faced losses.

Share prices of 11 companies remained unchanged.

Bottlers Nepal Balaju witnessed a noteworthy surge, with its shares increasing by 10 percent, followed by Manakamana Smart Microfinance, which saw a gain of 9.86 percent.

However, other investors experienced modest returns.

Conversely, Joshi Hydropower hit a negative circuit, contributing to losses for investors in Upper Sange and Maulung Hydro.

Sonapur Minerals emerged as the highlight of the day, boasting the highest turnover of 11 crores.

The Nepal Stock Exchange reported a total of 48,349 shares bought and sold throughout the day.
