Socialist Front to interact with civil society on political situation

KATHMANDU: The Socialist Front (Samajwadi Morcha) Nepal is set to hold discussions with civil society and intellectuals on Saturday regarding the latest political situation.

The decision was made during a meeting of the Morcha, which was held this morning at the central office of the Unified Socialist Party in Aloknagar, Kathmandu.

Additionally, the Front is also scheduled to hold an interactive session with journalists on Saturday.

The Front has also decided to advance political dialogue with parliamentary parties, as well as with political parties and leaders outside parliament.

“It has been decided to launch a broad political initiative to create an environment that defends national independence and the republic, while firmly advancing the journey towards socialism,” said a leader who participated in the meeting.

The meeting also decided to make the protest rally and public demonstration scheduled for March 28 a success, according to Khadka Bahadur Bishwakarma.

He further explained that the meeting discussed the political situation in the country, concluding that the situation is becoming more complicated due to demonstrations by monarchist supporters.

The meeting also decided to make any regressive actions unsuccessful.

Leaders attending the meeting included Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand, and Nepal Samajwadi Party Chairman Mahindra Raya Yadav.
