KATHMANDU: In an encounter held in Kathmandu today, Netherlands emerged victorious over Namibia by 59 runs in the third match of the tri-nations T20I series.
This marks the second victory for the Dutch team. In the most recent match, Netherlands secured a narrow victory over Nepal by a margin of two runs.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, the Dutch team set a formidable target of 248 runs for Namibia to chase at the Turibhuvan University International Cricket Ground.
In an exceptional display of batting prowess, Michal Levitt led the charge with a stunning century, contributing 135 runs to Netherlands’ imposing total. Alongside Levitt, Sybrand Engelbrecht’s valuable 75 runs further bolstered the team’s score.
Namibia put up a spirited fight but fell short, managing to score 188 runs for the loss of seven wickets within the allotted 20 overs.
J N Frylinck and Zane Green contributed 42 runs each while J P Kotze added 26 more to the teams total.
With this victory, Netherlands solidifies their position in the tri-nations T20I series, showcasing their dominance on the field and setting the stage for an exciting competition ahead.
