KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) initiated a complimentary parking service in the Dharahara area, aiming to alleviate the parking issues exacerbated by the recent ban on vehicle parking in the New Road area.
The KMC has taken the initiative to provide free parking facilities on the first floor of the building constructed alongside the iconic Dharahara, offering convenience to motorists in search of parking solutions.
In response to the prohibition of random parking on the roads in the New Road area, the streets now appear deserted, while traffic has noticeably increased at Dharahara as more vehicles flock to avail themselves of the newly established free parking service.
According to KMC, a substantial 50,000 square feet area has been allocated for free parking, effective on Sunday, signaling a positive step towards addressing the pressing parking concerns in the bustling metropolitan hub.
