14,308 students graduate at TU’s 50th convocation



KATHMANDU: A total of 14,308 students graduated from Tribhuvan University (TU) during its 50th convocation ceremony held at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor.

Prime Minister and TU Chancellor KP Sharma Oli personally presented certificates to students who achieved the highest marks and completed their doctoral studies.

This year’s graduates included 9,068 undergraduate students, 5,055 postgraduate students, 63 MPhil students, and 122 PhD scholars, according to TU Examination Controller Pushparaj Joshi.

The ceremony also recognized academic excellence with numerous awards. Among the notable honors, Hira Shrestha of the Management Faculty received the Tribhuvan University Professors’ Association Martyrs’ Associate Professor Hariraj Adhikari Gold Medal.

Sudha Kafle of the School of Management was awarded the Shree Indrabhakta Shrestha Gold Medal.

Other recipients included Sushil Pokharel from the Central Department of Chemistry, who received the Amrit Medal, and Rikita Bhandari of the Central Department of Environmental Science, who was awarded the Madan Vidya Environmental Science Award.

Rebika Bhandari of Kathmandu Model College received the Nepal Bank Limited Sardar Gunjaman Singh Gold Medal and the Ram Krishna Nhuchhe Pradhan Award.

Additional awards highlighted students from various faculties, including Sudiksha Ghimire of Ratna Rajya Lakshmi Campus, who earned the Narendramani Acharya Dixit Medal and the Dr Mohan Prasad Lakhe Gold Medal, and Sanjeev Kumar Singh of the Central Department of Library and Information Science, who was honored with the Shanti-Narayan Mishra Medal.

The ceremony celebrated not only academic achievements but also TU’s legacy as Nepal’s premier institution for higher education, marking a moment of pride for students, faculty, and the nation.
