Minister Paudel for securing optimum benefits from limited resources

KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population, Pradeep Paudel, has said it was time for Nepal to secure optimum benefits from the limited resources available.

During a national joint annual review meeting organized by the Ministry today, Minister Paudel admitted, “Owing to resource crunch, programmes could not be launched. So, our efforts should focus on how the available resources are best utilized within the budget.”

The budget was not spent for lack of action plan, he commented. The Minister urged the concerned officials to pay heed to sanitation at hospital in view of public trust in the hospital services.

There must be visible information on the fee for various health services at the health facilities, he reminded, adding that hospital needs to be plastic free zone.

During the review meeting, the officials took stock of the activities and progress made in the past one year in health sector.

Officials from various departments including health, ayurveda, and drug administration under the Ministry were present on the occasion. The review meeting will run till Friday.
