KATHMANDU: Continuous rain since Friday has led to devastating floods in three districts of the Kathmandu Valley, resulting in the deaths of 21 people and leaving 6 others missing.

According to SSP Binod Ghimire of the Valley Police Office in Ranipokhari, nine individuals lost their lives in Kathmandu, nine in Lalitpur, and three in Bhaktapur.

In addition to the fatalities, eight people have been injured in Kathmandu, three in Lalitpur, and one in Bhaktapur.

Flooding has affected 226 houses in Kathmandu, prompting the deployment of a rescue team comprising 3,600 personnel led by the Nepal Police.

Lalitpur has been particularly hard-hit, with most areas submerged.

Four individuals went missing on Saturday morning in Nakhipot due to delays in rescue efforts.

Fortunately, three of them were later rescued by police and locals, and transported to Patan Hospital in a police vehicle.
