Karnali govt collects Rs 21.47 million in tourism revenue last fiscal year

KARNALI: The Karnali Province government collected Rs 21.475 million in revenue from various tourism destinations within the province during the last fiscal year 2023/24.

The revenue breakdown includes Rs 4.112 million from Rara National Park, Rs 9.090 million from Surkhet Provincial Martyrs Park, Rs 1.150 million from Kakrebihar, and Rs 7.114 million from Bulbule Park.

Dev Kumari Shahi, Chief Administrative Officer of the Tourism Development Section under the Industry, Tourism, Forests, and Environment Ministry, noted that revenue from Shey Phoksundo Lake, Dailekh View Tower at Guranse Rural Municipality, and several other sites has not been included in this total.

The Ministry does not have records of revenue collected from Kupinde Lake in Salyan, Syarpu Pond in Rukum East, Gidi Pond, Chandannath Temple, and Kanakasundari in Jumla, Tripurasundari in Dolpa, Pachal Waterfall in Kalikot, Panchakoshi, Dullu Palace, Gadhi area of Dailekh, Limi Valley in Humla, Jajarkot Palace, Baraha Pond, and Jajura Pond in Surkhet.
