Self-proclaimed ‘social activist’ Sharmila Waiba arrested

SINDHUPALCHOWK: Sindhupalchowk police arrested Sharmila Waiba, a self-proclaimed social activist from Bahrabise in Sindhupalchowk, on Wednesday in connection with a case involving assault.

The arrest was made in Bahrabise after the Kathmandu police received information about Waiba’s presence in Sindhupalchowk.

Coordinating with the local authorities, they successfully apprehended her.

The incident unfolded a few days prior when Waiba, along with Pawan’s wife Sumnima Khaling and sister Ganga, entered the residence where Pawan was staying and subjected him to assault.

The arrest follows an investigation into the reported beating case.
