KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that westerly winds are affecting the country, with partly cloudy weather in the hilly areas and clear skies in the rest of the country.
Fog has been observed in some parts of the Terai and hilly regions.
Meanwhile, temperatures in the Kathmandu Valley continue to drop.
The minimum temperature recorded this morning was 8 degrees Celsius, but it has since improved slightly to 10 degrees Celsius.
The Department has forecasted that the maximum temperature in the capital today will range between 19 and 21 degrees Celsius.
According to the Department, the weather will remain partly cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces this afternoon, while the rest of the country will experience clear skies.
Light rain is possible in one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with a chance of light snowfall in the higher hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
Tonight, the weather will remain partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with clear skies in the rest of the country.

The Department has forecasted light rain in one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces over the next 24 hours, along with light snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki.
Authorities have urged vigilance, as these conditions may impact agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, and both road and air transportation.
