Nepal wins against Saudi Arabia in table tennis under ISF Gynmasiade

KATHMANDU: Nepal defeated Saudi Arabia in a match towards the women’s team event in table tennis held under ongoing the International School Sport Federation (ISF) Gymnasiade Bahrain-2024.

In the competition held for 9-13 positions at the Isa Sports City Hall in the National Stadium in Bahrain, Nepal defeated Saudi Arabia by 4-1.

With this victory, Nepal has qualified to face Uganda 1 for the 9th to 11th positions on Monday. If the results are not favorable, Nepal will secure the 11th position.

In earlier matches, Nepal competed against England, Azerbaijan, Italy, and Chinese Taipei, experiencing losses against England (4-3), Azerbaijan (5-2), Italy (5-2), and Chinese Taipei (7-0).
The team consists of Ivana Thapa, Bianca Rai, Malsa Nepal, and Bidwisha Mainali. Additionally, Nepal will compete in the singles category in the women’s event as well while Jebish Burlakoti and Ashish Mahata are representing the men’s team.
