Landslide on Mid-hill Road in Khotang halts traffic



KHOTANG: A landslide has struck the Madhyapahari (Mid-hill) Lokmarga road section in Halesi Tuwachung Municipality, resulting in halted traffic in both directions.

At around noon on Friday, a landslide descended from a height of approximately 40 meters, affecting the road in Barkhetar, Municipality-10.

According to the District Police Office, Khotang, the landslide has blocked a 20-meter stretch of the road.

Emergency responders, including police, have arrived at the scene.

They are coordinating with local authorities and the road department to facilitate the road’s reopening.

An excavator from the Department of Road is on site to begin clearing the debris.
