Pandey elected Senior Vice Chair of Unified Socialist unopposed

KATHMANDU: Rajendra Prasad Pandey has been elected as the Senior Vice Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist) unopposed.

It was decided to hold an election after the Central Committee meeting, which began this Sunday, failed to reach a consensus on the selection of office bearers.

Consequently, the party decided to proceed with an election for 18 office bearers and 105 politburo members, scheduled for Tuesday.

During the election, Pandey secured the position without contest after Dhanendra Basnet withdrew his nomination.

Earlier, the party had elected Madhav Kumar Nepal as Chairman, Ghan Shyam Bhusal as General Secretary, and Jhalnath Khanal as the Respected Leader.
