KMG Chairman Sirohiya to appear in court today

JANAKPURDHAM: Dhanusha Police are producing Kantipur Media Group (KMG) Chairman Kailash Sirohiya to court today, marking the third attempt to extend the deadline amid ongoing legal proceedings.

Sirohiya was arrested on May 21 in connection with citizenship acquisition fraud.

The Dhanusha District Court has twice granted the police extensions of 3 days each for further investigation.

Admitted to the hospital on the second extension deadline, Sirohiya is currently receiving treatment at the Kavya Hospital in Janakpurdham.

Despite his medical condition, the police are making arrangements to produce him to court.

“We are assessing Sirohia’s health status closely,” remarked Dhanusha police spokesperson DSP Ranjan Awa.

Suffering from high blood pressure and cardiac issues, Sirohiya was initially examined at a provincial hospital, where doctors deemed his condition stable.

However, subsequent diagnostic tests prompted his transfer to Kavya Hospital.

Media access to Sirohiya, under police surveillance, remains restricted, fueling social media speculation that his hospitalization is a ploy to avoid detention, drawing widespread criticism.
