KATHMANDU: The government has decided to accept a $20.7 million grant from the US government to improve health services.
The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.
Government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel said the meeting also approved the use of national forest areas for the Kamala-Dhalkebar-Pathlaiya section of the East-West Highway, the Garjang Khola Small Hydropower Project, the Balefi Khola Hydropower Project, and the construction of training academies, barracks and border security posts for the Armed Police Force Nepal.
Pokharel, who is also the Education Minister, said the Cabinet also approved a proposal to table a bill amending the Animal Slaughterhouse and Meat Inspection Act, 1999, in the Federal Parliament.
