Peace process to conclude based on national consensus: PM Dahal



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has emphasized the government’s dedication to concluding the remaining aspects of the peace process through a national consensus.

During a meeting with representatives of various organizations representing families of conflict victims in Singha Durbar today, Prime Minister Dahal assured that the government remained committed to complying with court orders concerning investigations into disappearances and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

He acknowledged that despite the government’s intentions, the tasks related to transitional justice have not yet been completed.

The Prime Minister pointed out the presence of forces hindering the completion of the remaining aspects of the peace process.

He revealed that bills aimed at advancing the remaining tasks of the peace process have been put forth by the government.

Additionally, Prime Minister Dahal conveyed that the government is actively working to provide employment opportunities for the family members of conflict victims, ensure medical care for those injured during the conflict, and facilitate housing for them.

He reiterated his commitment to achieving sustainable peace by bringing the peace process to a comprehensive conclusion.
