Nepal off to a steady start, scoring 60 runs in loss of two wickets in the initial power play against Namibia



KATHMANDU: Nepal, in pursuit of a challenging target of 207 runs, managed to accumulate 60 runs while losing two wickets during the power play phase against Namibia.

In the preceding innings, after winning the toss, Namibia elected to bat first and posted a total of 206 runs for the loss of four wickets within the stipulated 20 overs.

During the initial power play, Kushal Bhurtel, one of Nepal’s opening batsmen, departed for a duck, falling to the first delivery of the innings, while his partner, Aarif Sheikh, was caught out after contributing just six runs.

At present, Rohit Poudel, the captain, and Kushal Malla are at the crease, with Poudel scoring 31 runs and Malla adding 21 runs to Nepal’s total.

The Nepalese side is aiming to build a solid partnership to chase down the target set by Namibia in this crucial encounter.
