Kathmandu Valley shivers as temperature plummets to 2.5 degrees celsius

KATHMANDU: Despite the absence of winter rainfall, residents across the country are braving bone-chilling temperatures, with the Kathmandu Valley recording its lowest temperature of the year at 2.5 degrees Celsius, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

Senior Meteorologist Min Kumar Aryal reported that the minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley dropped from 2.9 degrees Celsius at 5:00 am to 2.5 degrees Celsius at 8:45 am this morning.

Two days ago, the minimum temperature was 3 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, Jumla recorded a chilling minus 5.3 degrees Celsius, and Jomsom in Mustang reported minus 5.5 degrees Celsius.

The hilly areas of Gandaki, Koshi, and Bagmati Provinces are experiencing partly cloudy weather, while thick fog blankets the Tarai region, as shared by the senior Meteorologist.
