Basbariya Rural Municipality ward chair passes away



KATHMANDU: Nandalal Mahato, the Ward Chair of Basbariya Rural Municipality-3, Sarlahi, has passed away at the age of 69.

Mahato, who had been battling cancer, passed away on Wednesday night at BP Koirala Memorial Hospital in Bharatpur while undergoing treatment.

Ramsinhasan Raya, Chair of Basbariya Rural Municipality, confirmed the news and said that Mahato’s cremation will take place today.

Mahato, a member of the Nepali Congress, was elected as the ward and had been a respected figure in the community.

In honor of Mahato’s passing, the Basbariya Rural Municipality has declared a mourning period for today.
