LUMBINI: The Lumbini Province Government has proceeded ahead for the establishment of a Project Bank, as outlined in its annual policies and programs for the current fiscal year 2081-82 BS (2024-25).

Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya stated that the proposed bank will create a transparent system for selecting projects, with strategic plans aimed at unlocking opportunities for prosperity and self-sufficiency in the province.

The Lumbini Province Planning Commission has begun discussions at various levels to formulate the guidelines for the bank’s establishment.

Stakeholders want that social and human development aspects should be prioritized during the process.

Mohan Raj Kafley, Secretary at the Ministry of Forests and Environment, expressed hope that the bank will make the project selection process more participatory, fact-based, and transparent, leading to quality and result-oriented development administration.

Project expert Dr Nahakul KC said that the bank will serve as a tool to integrate projects and ensure transparency in the project selection process.
