266 students awarded full scholarships in Bharatpur



BHARATPUR: Bharatpur Metropolitan City (BMC) has awarded full scholarships to 266 students pursuing Grade 11 in institutional schools.

The students were selected based on the Education Act and the Scholarship Management Procedure of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, following an online application process.

Mayor Renu Dahal of Bharatpur Metropolitan City stated that the scholarships were distributed according to the students’ abilities and qualifications.

She highlighted the significant progress Bharatpur has made in the education sector and emphasized the city’s commitment to providing access to education for all.

Mayor Dahal also noted the focus on improving government schools to enhance their competitiveness.

Scholarships were distributed to students from minority and marginalized communities as well.

Chief of the Educational Administration Division, Subhash Chandra Acharya, mentioned that the policy encourages merit-based students to pursue their studies.

The scholarships were awarded across 30 institutional schools.

Among the recipients are 99 merit-based students, 96 from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, 26 from indigenous communities, 13 from Dalit communities, eight with disabilities, and 24 from families of martyrs and those injured in the people’s movement.

The metropolitan city distributes scholarships annually. Last year, 274 students received scholarships.
