Landslide blocks Beni-Jomsom road

BENI: The Beni-Jomsom road has been blocked due to a landslide in Myagdi-Raghuganga Rural Municipality-2, Sirubari.

Large rocks fell onto the road this morning, causing the obstruction.

Sohanjung Karki, sub-engineer of the Beni-Jomsom-Korla road project, stated that a dozer equipped with a breaker will be dispatched to clear the debris.

“We have prepared a loader and a breaker to tackle the landslide and remove the stones,” he said, adding that the goal is to reopen the road today.

The Beni-Jomsom-Korala road project, which is currently undergoing upgrades, has mobilized construction workers, road department equipment, technicians, and additional personnel to address the landslide and restore traffic.
