KATHMANDU: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, underscores the urgency of completing the remaining part of the peace process swiftly.

Speaking at a program commemorating the 22nd Krishna Sen ‘Ichchuk’ Memorial Day, Minister Sharma, also the government spokesperson, stressed the importance of concluding the peace process expeditiously through the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

“It’s disheartening that the peace process remains unfinished; it must be concluded soon,” she asserted, cautioning against politicizing the issue.

Sharma emphasized viewing the peace process as a national endeavor, transcending individual, party, or leadership interests.

Highlighting the imperative for parliamentary action, Sharma urged the swift passage of the truth and reconciliation commissions bill.

“To truly honor Krishna Sen and all disappeared individuals like him, this bill must be expedited. Its passage will mark the culmination of Nepal’s overarching peace efforts.”

Sharma also commended the contributions of various individuals, including the late Sen, to the success of the “People’s War”.

She emphasized the need to acknowledge the sacrifices of freedom fighters like Krishna Sen, underscoring Nepal’s pride as a federal democratic republic.
