CIAA files corruption case against 10 persons, including Land Revenue Office staff in Solukhumbu



KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has taken legal action against ten individuals, among them former Kharidar of the Land Revenue Office in Solukhumbu, Tej Nath Paudel.

According to CIAA spokesperson Narhari Ghimire, the anti-corruption body has filed a case against these individuals, including staff from Solukhumbu’s Land Revenue Office and Survey Office, for allegedly facilitating the unauthorized transfer of public land to private individuals.

“CIAA has filed a case against 10 individuals for their involvement in transferring Plot numbers 579 and 581 of Jubhing-5, Solukhumbu, to private individuals through fraudulent means,” stated the spokesperson, adding,” The case has been filed at the Special Court on Friday.”

The Commission demanded a penalty of Rs 618,000 and imprisonment for those found guilty of fraudulent land registration.

Similarly, the CIAA has implicated former surveyor Tank Prasad Niraula of Solukhumbu, as well as residents Buddhamaya Thapa Magar and her grandson Ram Krishna Thapa Magar, who reside in Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality-1, as defendants in the case.

Likewise, Phur Gyalje Sherpa, Ngim Yangji Sherpa, Lakpa Dikki Sherpa, Pemba Sherpa, Lakpa Gyaljen Sherpa, Sharmila Rai, and the late Mingmalhamu Sherpa has also been mentioned as defendants in the case.
