RSP Chair Rabi Lamichhane to be brought to Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), who is in custody over cooperative fraud allegations, is set to be brought to Kathmandu for questioning on Tuesday.

Currently held at the District Police Office in Kaski for investigations related to three charges, Lamichhane is scheduled to be flown to Kathmandu on a Buddha Air flight at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Following the Kaski District Court’s decision on Sunday to extend his detention by 15 days for further investigation, he will be questioned in relation to the misappropriation of funds at Swarnalaxmi Cooperative in Kalimati, Kathmandu.

After giving his statement, Lamichhane will be returned to Pokhara and subsequently taken to Chitwan for further inquiries regarding another cooperative fund misappropriation case.
