KATHMANDU: Kailash Sirohiya, Chairman of Kantipur Media Group (KMG), has been admitted to a hospital following a deterioration in his health.

Sirohiya had been held in custody at the Dhanusha Police Office for the past four days due to issues related to dual citizenship.

Sirohiya was initially arrested on Tuesday and subsequently admitted to Janakpur Provincial Hospital on Friday after experiencing a rise in blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, and headache.

He has now been referred to Kavya Hospital for further treatment.

Sirohiya suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure, according to his family members.

On Friday, the Dhanusha District Court granted permission to remand him in custody for an additional three days.
