Four provinces likely to witness rainfall, snow in mountains



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has highlighted the current influence of a western low-pressure system in Nepal alongside a low-pressure system in North East Assam and surrounding regions of India.

As outlined by the Division, the weather is forecasted to be partly to mostly cloudy in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Koshi provinces, while clearer skies are anticipated in other provinces.

Throughout this afternoon, hilly areas, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, are expected to experience partly cloudy conditions, with similar weather patterns persisting across the rest of the country.

There’s a likelihood of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in various parts of the hilly areas within Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with the possibility of light snowfall in hilly and mountainous areas.

Moving into the night, Koshi, Bagmati, Madhesh, and Gandaki provinces are expected to witness mostly clear conditions, while partly to mostly cloudy skies are predicted elsewhere.

During the nighttime, there remains a potential for light rain with thunder and lightning in select areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Madhesh, and Gandaki provinces, extending to a few spots in other hilly regions.

Furthermore, there’s a chance of light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in a couple of locations within Koshi and Madhesh provinces.
