Netherlands secures victory over Nepal by eight wickets in ICC CWC League 2



KATHMANDU: In a thrilling conclusion to the tri-nations ODI series of ICC CWC League 2, Netherlands emerged triumphant over Nepal by eight wickets.

Having won the toss at the TU Cricket Ground, Netherlands elected to bowl first, effectively restricting Nepal to a total of 172 runs.

In pursuit of the modest target, Netherlands confidently chased down the runs, reaching the winning total with just two wickets down in 37.5 overs.

Vikramjitt Singh led the charge for the Netherlands with a brilliant half-century, scoring 58 runs, while contributions from SA Engelbrecht, M Levitt, and MP O’Down added 46, 39, and 28 runs respectively to their total.

On the bowling front, Lalit Rajbanshi and Dipendra Singh Airee managed to secure one wicket each for Nepal.

In the first innings, Nepal’s batting was anchored by Kushal Bhurtel, who achieved his eighth ODI half-century with a score of 66 runs.

Additional contributions from Karan KC, Aarif Sheikh, and Rohit Poudel added 26, 22, and 16 runs respectively to Nepal’s total.

Notably, VJ Kingma and Aryan Dutt proved to be standout bowlers for the Netherlands, each claiming three wickets apiece.
