POKHARA: The statement of former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, who previously served as the vice-chair of Gorkha Media Network, concluded on Tuesday at the Kaski District Court.

Joshi was questioned regarding charges of cooperative fraud, money laundering, and organized crime under the supervision of Judge Nitij Rai. Following Joshi’s statement, the focus has shifted to the other defendants.

Leela Pochhai began her statement after Joshi’s session concluded. However, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chair Rabi Lamichhane did not provide his statement today. Officials have stated that Lamichhane’s turn will come after Pochhai’s statement is completed.

On Tuesday, Lamichhane, former DIG Joshi, Leela Pochhai, and Ram Bahadur Khanal were presented before the court. Another defendant, Krishna Bahadur Gurung, was absent due to health issues and remains hospitalized.

Earlier, on Sunday, the Kaski District Attorney’s Office filed a case against Lamichhane, Joshi, and 42 others, accusing them of cooperative fraud. To date, cases have been filed against 63 individuals in connection with the Suryadarsan Cooperative fraud.
